In 2004, Colonel Engel retired from the army, and after returning from Iraq and Kuwait, they decided to realize their dreams, living in the mountains of northern Georgia and planting the highest quality grapes. The Engel family planted the first vines in 2009 and harvested the first grapes in 2011; since then, the store vineyards have been strong.
