Oshawa Zoo opened the park on July 29, 1993. Their goal was to create a clean as well as green and friendly mix of exotic and domestic animal interactions! Their enclosures and paddocks were to be made large enough to keep the grass lush and green throughout the season! They have set out to exceed the standards of the National Zoo in terms of size. Children and animals will be able to interact and be fed and petted through the enclosures. Oshawa Zoo tries to rescue every baby they find that has been abandoned or is too weak to feed. They have had some great success in this area.
