As a pioneer of early television live broadcasts, Mr. Hugg became a founding member of the American Directors Association. Today, DGA represents directors of film, television, business, documentaries, news, sports and new media. Prior to his death in 2003, he served on the board of DGA for 27 years, many of whom served as vice presidents. In 1953, William H. Page (Bill), a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, was hired as the new artistic director.
