Birch Aquarium is the Center for Public Discovery at UC San Diego's world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it's home to more than 60 species of fish and invertebrates, from the frigid waters of the Pacific Northwest to the tropical waters of Mexico and beyond. The Oceanographic Museum showcases the findings of Scripps oceanography scientists in climate, earth, and ocean sciences, and includes interactive elements. It also serves as a public outreach center for the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego.
