Grand Opera House has been offering laughter, tears and applause since 1895. Since being first opened to the public more than a century ago, this beloved venue has hosted some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. On December 23, 1895, the first performance of Grand Opera House kicked off, announcing the achievements of architect Frank Macham and owner Joseph F. Warden. The first season includes comedies, musical comedies, farce and melodramas. There is also a market for classical operas and plays, which regularly perform Shakespeare's works. The theater flourished in its early years, providing a place for escape from reality for the comedy and theatrical worlds, including a performance by Gracie Fields in 1933, which was a success.
