SYMBICORT is not a substitute for emergency inhalers for sudden symptoms. The company combines ICS, budesonide and the LABA drug formoterol. Using LABA medicines such as formoterol alone increases the risk of hospitalization and death from asthma problems. This risk was not significantly increased when ICS and LABA were used together. Customers should not use this product for sudden severe symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or asthma. Before you use this product, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you have heart disease or high blood pressure and any medications you may be taking.
